Date: January 27 to February 4, 2017
Founded in 2001 in the renowned Swiss ski resort, the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad is now considered as one of the leading winter festivals in Europe. Internationally acclaimed soloists and orchestras are invited to perform at the beautiful Church of Saanen, the 11th century Romanesque Church of Rougemont and the historic Chapel of Gstaad. With an aim to encourage the future of classical music, the festival features each year a concert series performed by young rising stars around a specific discipline under the mentoring of established masters. After performances, one of the young musicians will be awarded the Prix Groupe Edmond de Rothschild or the Prix Philippe Chaignat. Past prizewinners include the Berolina Trio, Nemanja Radulovic, Joseph Moog, Nicolas Altstaedt and more.
