Founded in 1951, Nürnberg Organ Festival is the world’s oldest event of sacred music. Regarded as Europe’s finest organ festival, concerts take place at two reconstructed late Gothic churches: St. Sebald and St. Lorenz Churches. Featuring concerts and master classes of Christian church music, the festival also expands to include music traditions of other religions such as the Japanese shakuhachi and sho and Arabic vocal arrangements. On top of that, the reputable International Organ Competition is a highlight, in which guests will witness the emergence of new organ virtuosi at one of the world’s most prestigious events of its kind.
