Date: November 14 to 20, 2014
Organized by the Slovak Philharmonic, the competition was established since 2003 in memory of Austrian pianist and composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778-1837). A native of Bratislava, Hummel’s work was considered to be a blend of late Classicism and early Romanticism. The event aims to facilitate active cultivation of the legacy of a great composer and piano virtuoso which paves the way towards concert careers of remarkable young pianists. Candidates are to enter three rounds of elimination before an international jury panel of seven.
